Chenille Patches
Chenille embroidery, colloquially known as ‘chenille’, is a kind of specialised loop or chain embroidery, which is made with yarn, instead of embroidery threads.
Chenille (pronounced shuh neel) is the French word for caterpillar whose fur the yarn is supposed to resemble.
The badge is commonly made by placing two core yarns and twisting them together and then stitching piles of this yarn onto a backing fabric. Because of this process, the resulting fabric is soft and fuzzy and has a textured look.
